Take your team out of the meeting room and onto Europe's wildest rivers. Rafting on the Vjosa or Osumi Canyon creates the kind of shared experience that team building exercises in a conference room simply cannot replicate.
Request Corporate QuoteThere is a reason adventure activities have become a staple of corporate team building programmes across Europe, and it is not simply novelty. The most effective team building creates situations where participants must genuinely rely on each other to achieve a shared goal — and where the consequences of poor communication are immediate and tangible. Rafting does this better than almost anything else available as a corporate activity — see paketat tona për grupe.
A raft is a six to eight person craft that requires coordinated effort from every occupant. When the guide calls a paddle command, everyone needs to execute it at the same time and in the same direction. If two people are paddling forward while one is paddling back and another is resting, the boat goes sideways — sometimes into a rock. This is not a metaphor. It is a physical, immediate demonstration of what happens when a team fails to communicate and coordinate. And when it goes right — when eight people hit a rapid in perfect synchrony and punch through the wave train together — the shared elation of that moment creates a bond that no trust-fall exercise on a corporate lawn has ever managed.
Beyond the rafting mechanics themselves, a day on Albania's rivers puts your team in a genuinely unfamiliar environment together. Colleagues who have only ever seen each other in a professional context discover unexpected things about each other — who is naturally encouraging, who stays calm under pressure, who finds their voice when it matters. The shared novelty strips away office hierarchy in a healthy way and creates a more human dynamic that, in our experience, feeds back positively into how teams work together when they return to the office.
Albania adds its own dimension to all of this. The Vjosa is Europe's last undammed wild river. The Osumi Canyon is one of the most dramatic natural environments in the Balkans. Bringing your team to a landscape that most of them have never seen and would never have chosen independently gives the day a quality of genuine discovery that amplifies everything else. People talk about it for a long time after, and that shared reference point — "remember when we went through that canyon" — has a cultural and connective value in team dynamics that is easy to underestimate.
We keep our offering simple and transparent. Our price is €40 per person, covering all safety equipment, certified guides, and full on-river support. We do not believe in complicated multi-tier packages that add cost without adding value. What you get is a properly run, professionally guided rafting day on one of Albania's two premier rivers, with every logistical detail handled by our team.
For corporate groups we recommend a minimum of eight participants, which fills one raft with a guide. Most corporate groups run between fifteen and forty people, which means two to five rafts on the water simultaneously. We always allocate a guide to each raft and a lead guide who oversees the overall group. For groups above thirty, we assign an additional logistics coordinator who handles the shuttle, equipment distribution, and any on-land requirements while the guides focus entirely on the river.
We operate on both the Vjosa River near Permet and the Osumi Canyon near Berat. Both are accessible from Tirana by road — the Vjosa route takes around three hours from Tirana, the Osumi around two hours. We can arrange transport for your group from Tirana or Berat if required; simply include this in your enquiry and we will quote accordingly. Most corporate groups combine the rafting with lunch at a local restaurant, which we are happy to coordinate — the riverside restaurants near both our routes serve excellent Albanian food at very reasonable prices.
Standard group trips follow our established routes with the guide managing pace and stops according to conditions. For corporate clients who want a more structured team building format, we offer a customised day design that incorporates specific team challenges at key points on the river.
These can include pre-rapid team briefings where each boat must agree a strategy before hitting the water, inter-boat communication challenges where boats need to coordinate across the water, problem-solving exercises at swimming stops, and a structured debrief at the end of the day that connects the river experience to workplace dynamics. If your company has a specific team building theme or objective — improving communication, building trust between departments, integrating a new team — tell us in advance and we will design the day around it in collaboration with your HR or L&D contact.
Some corporate groups prefer a pure adventure day without any explicit team building structure, and that is equally valid. The natural dynamics of the river create team building outcomes without any additional framing. Groups of friends who work together, departments celebrating a project completion, or new cohorts doing an induction activity all benefit from the day in their own way. We follow the lead of the organiser and make the experience fit the group's needs.
Riverside catering is a popular add-on for corporate days. Rather than breaking for lunch at a restaurant, some groups prefer a catered picnic on a gravel bank mid-river. We coordinate with local catering contacts who can arrange hot food, cold drinks, and Albanian specialities at the riverside. It adds a memorable, informal quality to the day and keeps the energy up for the afternoon section of the river.
We have hosted corporate groups from Austria, Germany, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, and increasingly from within the Western Balkans as Albania grows in regional business travel. The feedback is consistent enough that we can characterise it with confidence: companies come back. Our return rate among corporate clients runs higher than our return rate for individual tourists, which tells you something about the quality of the experience relative to the brief they set us.
A technology consultancy from Vienna sent a group of twenty-two people for a team integration day following a merger that had created two distinct cultures within the organisation. The HR director wrote to us afterwards saying that the Osumi Canyon day had achieved more in six hours than three months of internal integration workshops. Her analysis, which she generously shared with us, was that the river removed all professional pretence and put everyone in a position of equal unfamiliarity. Nobody had an advantage, nobody had an established role — everyone was just a person in a wetsuit trying to paddle through a canyon. That equality of condition, she said, reset the dynamic between the two groups in a way that no office-based exercise had managed.
A marketing agency from Hamburg used the Vjosa for a birthday-adjacent team reward day for a long-standing creative team. Their director described it as the best money he had spent on staff in five years — not just because of the quality of the experience but because it signalled something to the team about how the company valued them. Taking people somewhere genuinely special, somewhere they would not have gone on their own, communicates a kind of respect that a restaurant dinner cannot match.
A Tirana-based financial services company brought us their Berat regional office team for a day on the Osumi, blending the rafting with a morning visit to Berat's UNESCO-listed old town. The combination worked well — the cultural visit in the morning was replaced by the river in the afternoon, giving the day a rhythm that felt like a real adventure rather than a scheduled corporate event. We are increasingly recommending this format for Albanian-based companies whose teams may have less appetite for a full day of outdoor activity but want a meaningful shared experience.
Our corporate pricing is straightforward: €40 per person, all equipment included. We do not charge a premium for corporate bookings or add organisational fees on top of the per-person rate. If you want transport from Tirana or Berat, riverside catering, or a structured team building programme, we will quote for those elements separately and honestly. There are no hidden charges and no ambiguity in our invoicing.
For corporate groups we ask for a provisional booking at least three weeks ahead of your preferred date, with final numbers confirmed one week before. We require a deposit to secure the date and balance payment can be arranged by bank transfer or card. We can provide a VAT invoice for all corporate bookings and are experienced in working within the payment timelines that larger organisations require.
The best way to start the conversation is a WhatsApp message with your approximate group size, preferred dates, and whether you are based in Albania or travelling from abroad. We will respond within an hour with availability information and, if you want, a phone call to discuss the day in more detail. We work with corporate clients in the same direct, no-nonsense way we work with individual guests — you will not be put on hold, you will not be transferred between departments, and you will not receive a generic sales pitch. You will talk to one of our senior guides who knows the rivers and can design a day that actually serves your team's needs. See our group tours page for more detail, or explore our packages overview.
Rafting puts everyone in the same boat — literally. The raft only moves efficiently when all paddlers work in unison, making communication and coordination practical necessities rather than workshop concepts. Unlike office-based exercises, rafting creates genuine shared challenge in a spectacular environment, producing bonds and memories that last well beyond the day itself.
We accommodate corporate groups from 8 to 60 people. Larger groups are split across multiple rafts with a guide in each boat, running parallel river sessions so everyone is on the water simultaneously. We have successfully managed corporate days for teams of up to 50.
Our price is €40 per person, covering all safety equipment, certified guides, and on-river support. No premium corporate rates, no multi-tier packages — one clear price. Transport, catering, and structured programme elements are quoted separately on request.
Yes. We can adjust the river section for your group's fitness and experience, organise team challenges between rapids, arrange riverside catering, and coordinate transport from Tirana or Berat. If you have specific team building objectives, tell us in advance and our guides will structure the day around them.
No experience needed at all. Our guides deliver a thorough briefing before anyone gets on the water. The shared learning curve of a group new to rafting is itself a powerful team bonding mechanism — it equalises the group and creates a genuine common challenge from the very start.
Message us on WhatsApp with your group size and preferred dates. We respond within an hour and can usually have a tailored proposal back to you the same day.
